T-Mobile puts its name in the smart phone race with the highly anticipated Samsung Vibrant. As a recent addition from the popular Samsung, the Vibrant is an excellent smart phone with numerous features, such as a dazzling LED multi touch display and a camera shooting 5 megapixel photos and shooing 1280 x 720 720p high definition video. As a result, many smart phone owners identify their phones as investments, and as a result, a booming industry of accessories has sprung up to help owners protect their investments, as well as enhance their functionality.

You can purchase all kinds of Samsung Vibrant accessories to help you get the most out of your smart phone and protect it from damage when you are out living life. Despite the stand by two week battery life, the Samsung Vibrant can benefit from useful accessories such as the Vibrant charger that will always help keep the Vibrant powered. Having a car charger is a great way to ensure you don’t run out of battery power in the middle of a conversation while you are in your car. And for when you aren’t driving, Samsung Vibrant desktop chargers are used by some smart phone owners who want to be able to keep their smart phones topped off while they are at home.

If you have never purchased a smart phone case before, you may not know the variety of cases available for the Samsung Vibrant. While there are many manufacturers with many products on the market, most decisions about cases to purchase will typically come down to whether you want a leather case or a plastic case. Each type of case has its advantages and disadvantages. Let’s first talk about plastic cases. In general, plastic cases come in three strengths, which depend on the materials from which they are made. The lightest and least durable or protective cases are those that are essentially screen protectors; these are good for keeping dust and light scratches off your Samsung Vibrant, but they will not do much to protect it in a fall.

Next comes soft silicone cases, which will offer stronger and more effective protection than its screen protector counterparts. Last but not least, there are the hard plastic cases. These will typically be the most expensive of the three, but they’ll also offer the most protection.

However, while you may want a case for your Samsung Vibrant, you might want to put on a leather case. Leather cases are generally more fancier and stylish than their plastic counterparts. Because of their appealing factors, people might prefer the leather cases. But their protection usually lacks in comparison to the type of security a good plastic case can offer.

I like the Samsung Vibrant because of its beautiful four inch AMOLED display, its smooth and modernistic design, and its rich variety of entertainment. The four inch display is a gift to my eyes. I have never had a display so realistic on a phone; the amount of detail visible on the screen is nothing short of amazing. And because it's anti reflective, if I want to watch a video a friend sent me, or play a game I've been trying to beat, or even just sit down and have a good read, I can do any of these things whether I'm indoors or outdoors in bright sunlight. And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant screen protectors available online or in stores, I can carry my Vibrant with me and enjoy the beautiful display without worrying about it getting damaged in my pocket or while on the go. Continue reading →

I like the Samsung Vibrant because of its beautiful four inch AMOLED display, its sleek and modernistic design, and its extensive offerings for entertainment and creativity. The four inch display is simply a marvel to look at. I have never seen a display that was so life like on a smart phone; the amount of detail visible on the screen is nothing short of amazing. And because it’s anti reflective, if I want to watch a video a friend sent me, or play a game I’ve been trying to beat, or even just sit down and have a good read, I can do any of these things whether I’m indoors or outdoors in bright sunlight. And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant screen protectors available online or in stores, I can carry my Vibrant with me and enjoy the beautiful display without any concern for surface damage.

The second reason I prefer the Samsung Vibrant is because of its sleek and modernistic design. The Vibrant is exceptionally light and exceptionally fun to look at. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a slimmer smart phone. Its thin, light, and attractive design makes me want to take it everywhere with me, and whenever I show it off in public, I attract viewers. I’ve never thought about a phone as a fashion accessory before, but with my Vibrant, I realize I’m holding something stylish in my hands, and so do all of my friends.

And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant accessories available online or in stores, if there’s anything I need for my Vibrant, such as a case to prevent scratches during use, I can purchase accessories to ensure my Vibrant continues to look sleek and modernistic.

The third reason I like the Samsung Vibrant is because of its extensive offerings for entertainment and creativity. I had no idea that every Vibrant came with a copy of Avatar, the blockbuster that rocked theatres and broke records just a few months ago. Now I can watch it whenever I want, thanks to my Vibrant! And every movie I watch will be available with a spectacular 3D sound system inside the phone.

And when I don’t feel like watching movies, I can play The Sims 3 Mobile Edition, which also ships with every Vibrant. Or if I feel like reading something, there are potentially 600,000 different books I can select from the Amazon Kindle application that comes with Android and my Vibrant. And thanks to the wide variety of Samsung Vibrant batteries available online or in stores, I can take my Vibrant with me everywhere I go, safe with the knowledge that I’ll have a back-up battery just in case my Vibrant’s battery is running low.

Buying the Ooma Telo is a cost-effective purchase. With it, you will need a handset to direct phone calls to. The Ooma Telo handset must be purchased separately, so Ooma customers do have a decision to make in whether or not they want the company headset, or a different one.

The $50 price tag for the Ooma handset is very reasonable. Compare this to other headsets that can fetch $100 and up; it’s an affordable solution that still holds its own in the feature list. An example would be with the voice mail button, that takes customers straight to their voice mail- a time saver other headsets don’t always have.

The Ooma panel has a lot of good reviews for being so easy to use. One way to sync the contacts in your phone with the online contacts list is to simply press the sync button on the headset. This feature is only available on the Ooma headset, and not others. You will save time where you would otherwise have to manually type in names and numbers on the number pad- a tedious chore!

The Ooma Telo handset can also act as a baby monitor and an intercom system. Both features have a one-touch button to activate them. To activate the two features you must take advantage of your dual line system, which comes with the Ooma Premier service. An easy speakerphone is also included so you can do business as usual without having to worry about tying one hand behind your back in the process.

Not all is great for the Ooma Telo headset. It does have its share of pitfalls, such as the response of the phone. You can enter a number as quickly as you like on the keypad, but seeing the numbers on the LCD screen will appear as if the phone is lagging. Perhaps the phone doesn’t have the best hardware, or it was something overlooked. Either way, the phone could be a lot faster than what it currently is- but this isn’t a huge problem.

As far as looks go, the Ooma handset can’t get much better. It’s a sleek black that looks great right out of the box. The numbers are large, soft to the touch, and well laid out. You won’t have problems figuring out the different functions or trying to push buttons. The one gripe about the base for the phone is that the LED can’t be shut off. If your phone is in the base, you can bet the LED will be on too- kind of annoying.

In Conclusion

Overall, the Ooma Telo handset is a great buy. Compared to other phones it might not have the speed and such, but it does make up for it with extra features that syncs to the online applications Ooma has developed.

HTC has been manufacturing smartphones for a number of years now, but it wasn't until they switched to building them based on the Android operating system, that they started to see the success that has made them one of the big names in the market. Having created the Legend and Google's Nexus One, HTC have now launched the HTC Desire. But what makes it better than the Legend, and as good as the Nexus One? Continue reading →

HTC was traditionally a business that manufactured smartphones for other people, providing the technology and design for other brands to sell as exclusive products. However, switching from the Windows Mobile operating platform to Android saw the company develop its position not just as a manufacturer for brands like Google, with the Nexus One, but also for its own products, which most recently have included the Legend, and now the new HTC Desire.

On the face of it, there doesn’t appear to be much difference between the Nexus One and the Desire. The Desire has a quality feel to it, even it it doesn’t benefit from the same unibody construction as the Nexus One. The touchscreen is a decent size and looks good, especially when you notice that it has both the traditional clickable buttons, as well as the additional ones located on the touchscreen. The optical trackball adds an air of sophistication without looking too delicate.

The Desire is pretty impressive on the inside too. Underneath the 3.7 inch AMOLED screen there’s a fast Snapdragon processor to make dealing with all the different apps and functions a fast and painless experience. HTC have also increased the RAM to 512MB just to make sure there’s enough memory to match the processing power.

With a 5 megapixel camera that also has autofocus and an LED flash, the HTC Desire gives you everything you need to get great shots in just about all situations, especially with the wide 5:3 format making sure you get even more in. Video capture is high resolution, if not high definition, so recording moving pictures will give you results almost as good as your still images, and better than many of the other smartphones on the market.

HTC switched to the Android operating system in 2009 and this phone builds on what was a smart decision, offering the 2.1 version of the increasingly popular platform. On top of this, HTC have added their own Sense user interface, which makes navigating on the Desire easy and enjoyable. With additions to the Sense interface that include Friendstream, for putting all your social networking activity in one place, and Leap, which lets you view all your different home screens at once, the HTC Desire has got to be one of the most user-friendly smartphones available, which will only help its popularity.

From an almost standing start a few years ago, HTC has already proved they can manufacture the kind of smartphones that users want to buy. With high spec technology and impressive software, the HTC Desire simply reinforces this idea.

For a name that’s as synonymous with mobile phones as Nokia, it’s sometimes hard to understand why they have never really been able to crack the smartphone market, at least not in the same way Apple and HTC have, and some of the other manufacturers are starting to. All this could be about to change however, as the Finnish mobile giant tries to make up for lost time and opportunities, with the launch of the N8. But does Nokia even know what it takes to make a competitive smartphone anymore, and if so, is the Nokia N8 it?

There’s no denying the Nokia N8 is a good looking phone, which is nothing new in today’s smartphone market, but is quite an achievement for Nokia. With attractive lines and good proportions it looks like Nokia has been taking design lessons. The shape and size are enhanced by the quality of the aluminum casing, which all works together to give the N8 the quality look and feel that offers a serious challenge to the current market leaders. The fact that there’s no way to remove the battery doesn’t just help make the phone look good, but also sends the message that Nokia have got the operating system right as well, and you won’t be fiddling around with the battery to try and reset your phone.

The 3.5 inch touchscreen display is a decent size without being anything outstanding, and is capable of providing clear and bright images on the N8. What is outstanding however, is the amazing 12 megapixel camera that Nokia has shoehorned into the N8. With claims that it is the best phone camera available anywhere, Nokia is obviously keen to demonstrate that it still has the ability to compete in the smartphone market. As well as the incredible still shots you would expect from such a hi-spec camera, you also get the ability to record video in 720p high definition. Plus, if the 3.5 inch screen on the N8 isn’t quite enough for you, the mini HDMI output that’s neatly tucked away, will let you hook it up to your HDTV and watch your videos in all their glory.

Nokia was keen to make sure the N8 wasn’t just a one trick pony, and the amazing camera is only part of the N8′s story. It also gets a new operating system, being the first phone to offer the Symbian 3 platform. A powerful processor makes sure everything zips along nicely, and with 16GB of storage for your music files, and an attractive player to make the most of them, the N8 certainly has a few more tricks up its sleeve.

You’d probably struggle to name any of Nokia’s previous phones that were genuine smartphones, but the Nokia N8 looks certain to get people’s attention. Whether it will challenge the likes of the iPhone 4 and the HTC Desire remains to be seen, but it certainly looks like the best thing Nokia has done in a long time.

Though there have been a lot of issues already surrounding Facebook regarding its users privacy, some people still upload their personal data online that maybe seen too by some unscrupulous characters.

But despite of all these issues, folks from the famous social network site are planning to start yet another service for their users which can either be of help or add to the privacy concerns again.

A neat service called ‘Places” is being developed that will allow a FB account owner register a GPS capable mobile phone like the iPhone to their Facebook account and friends can be able to see the persons exact location in real time virtually in any part of the planet.

This is both a useful and fun service at the same time for close friends and relatives who would want to stay connected all the time. It can help businesses to track specific employees in the field as well.

As of to date, Facebook has not completely divulged the ways they will earn money by providing this free service but surely it’s a way for them to compete with another location detecting software like what can be found in Google.

But as it is useful and fun for, there are very grave dangers in this kind of service if not used wisely and taken advantage of by people who have other ideas for having a FB account and for adding hundreds of friends online. The person who would be tracking you could be a friend or a psycho killer.

As a wise user, it is advised to avoid uploading sensitive personal data in your FB account that every body can see. If you want to use Places in FB, make sure only your trusted and close friends can view your exact location other wise someone might be monitoring your movements without you even knowing it.

The Apple iPhone is one of the best phones that can be connected in FB when Places is already available for public usage.

And as owners of an iPhone we know that when you purchased iPhone insurance to cover our expensive mobile phone, we are protecting our selves from possible financial loss in case our iPhone was damaged, stolen or misplaced. This is the key important purpose of iPhone insurance.

Yet once you have decided to use FB’s new location service and upload your personal data and location for every one to see, this may sound creepy and scary, but you might as well get life insurance for your self too because you have just made your life 10 times more riskier and dangerous than before.

But it is fortunate that Facebook designers has made it possible for users to edit or block people they don’t want to see their data and location and avoid dangerous people following them. Make sure you choose only the right people you want to follow you through this new and rather intriguing service.

Motorola released the Droid a few years back to mostly positive reviews. That was because the company had produced a smartphone that stood near the top of the industry in developments and performance. Lately, other manufacturers have caught up and Motorola has found itself playing catch up. In order to reclaim cellular glory, the company has unveiled the Motorola Milestone XT720. Continue reading →

A few years ago, Motorola launched an extensive ad campaign announcing the arrival of the Droid smartphone. It was money well spent, as the Droid proved to be a good device. As time has passed, however, Motorola has let up on the gas so to speak and allowed other manufacturers to surpass them with more advanced handsets. In an effort to stop this trend and place its name back at the top of the smartphone heap, Motorola has unveiled the Motorola Milestone XT720.

In creating the XT720, Motorola has shed a bit of size and weight from the handset’s predecessors. The Milestone’s dimensions are 116 x 61 x 11mm and it weighs in at 160g. Of note is its somewhat odd shape. On the top right (when looking at it in landscape mode) are three lights which indicate the camera option the phone is currently in. The front and back of the phone are slightly incongruous, almost as if they consist of two separate pieces. Some critics would argue that the change in shape is superfluous, but its design certainly sets the Milestone apart.

Besides interesting designs, the Milestone XT720 offers the now familiar and sizeable 3.7-inch screen. A capacitive touchscreen, it provides resolution of 480 x 854 pixels on its display. To fully utilize the screen, a quite sharp 8-megapixel camera takes photos with a Xenon flash. This is unique to the Milestone, as other Android phones cannot yet boast this feature. Convenient additions to the camera are face detection and a panorama mode. Many smartphones that offer such quality cameras provide highly capable video recording as well, and the XT720 is no different. The recorder found on the phone captures video at 720p that can even be shown on the big screen using an HDMI port and the necessary cables to do so, all of which are included.

Motorola decided to install Android 2.1 on the Milestone in lieu of Motoblur, which may disappoint those who desire built-in social networking. The customer still receives a trial version of MotoNav as well as the new Phone Portal app. This is used to manage the XT720′s data right from the browser of a PC or Mac with a USB or WiFi connection. Speaking of browsing, the Milestone itself does a fine job, more so on the WiFi network, which is to be expected. And movies and Youtube look great on the 3.7-inch screen.

Motorola has not eliminated the competition with the Milestone XT720. They have, however, staked a claim once again as a leader in smartphone technology. The XT720 is sure to meet the needs of customers looking for a practical and speedy phone.
